Split Personality – Revelations of Magic Limited Edition Poster

Illusion is great, yet so too is reality, and that is where Stuart is urging us to look in order to find our truth and – more importantly – our future.

Here Harry’s eye is deliberately framed to centre the viewer’s gaze and, shining forth, we see an omniscience belying his age.

The two sides to Hermione’s nature exist here, shown by the two guises. Soft and innocent, yet determined and fair, the symbolic rays emitting from beneath suggest her development as she matures and changes the opinions of those around her.

‘Reflect’ encourages the viewer to see the mirror image of Hermione that Stuart intended. To the left, her face is veiled in Gryffindor house colours, whereas on the right we are shown a Hermione stepping forward to emerge as more than a schoolgirl, no longer defined purely by her renowned academia. She has drawn confidence from her own abilities, and Stuart’s abstracted representation of the passage of time shows Hermione’s growth and development.
